A Life Coach in the classroom

This is a class photo of the March 2006 Genos EI Certification training that I delivered for iPEC in Newark, New Jersey. I am consistently delighted by the international diversity represented among our attendees. In this class we had the cross-cultural insights of Americans originally from Russia, India, France and Tobago, as well as from the US. Dealing with our feelings and the feelings of others are fundamental aspects of the human experience and, of course, so is EI. That human experience of feeling transcends all national boundaries and cultures, so from my perspective, these multi-cultural points of view enrich us all, making our classes the whole world revealed in a grain of sand.
A personal message for prospective clients:
Occasionally, someone will ask me why people choose to work with a life coach. And though my clients come to me for many different stated reasons, it all boils down to one common truth:
Every day, through our thoughts, feelings, choices, words and actions, we are manifesting the life we have right now. We are all doing the very best we can with what we know and what we have. If we could do better, we certainly would. We simply want to improve the quality of our experience of life. What keeps us from doing that, what is missing, is the necessary information, resources and support to get our needs met in a way that really works. Nobody ever taught us how to be very good at that!
We want to improve ourselves. We want to be better human beings today than we were yesterday. If we want to be more effective, if we want better relationships, if we want more satisfying work, if we want a different life, we need to think, feel and act in ways that produce different results. We need to use our power of present moment awareness to be our truest Self and make different choices from within that authentic space. The challenge in all this is that we cannot move on to what's next until we can be fully present with, and tell the truth about, what is.
I have absolute faith in you. I know, with great certainty, that you already have the power within you to be fully present in the moment, to think, feel and act in ways that will create the life you want for yourself and will help you be that best person you came to this planet to be. I have seen these transformations time and time again as I work with my clients. All that is required is your internal commitment that yes, now is the time to begin.
